Fire alarm system in Rhode Island (RI)

Fire alarm system in Rhode Island (RI)

We received a letter from our local fire department, demanding that we install a commercial fire alarm system in our facility. Upon calling the fire marshall, they were not able to tell us what exactly we needed..( smoke detectors, horn strobes, pull stations, heat detectors, fan shutdown, etc). As it turns out, they only "approve" designs, but do not design what we need. We tried to understand the RI safety code as downloaded, and realized the RI fire laws were extremely complicated amd confusing, with sections for multifamily homes, seperate from places of assembly, industrial, three family, commercial, etc. We asked a neighboring facility who they used and they recommended AAA Alarms and Fire out of West Warwick. Turned out our neighbor gave us a great referral, as AAA Alarms was wonderful to work with, as they handled everything from the initial design and surveys of the building, plan submittals to the local fire authority, permits, installation, final approvals, and continue to provide the requires quarterly testing and inspections and 24hr service that is required by RI state law. In addition, we decided to switch our security system to AAA for monitoring of both our buglar and now Fire Alarm system from their 24 hr monitoring station. All at a price that no other vender came close to! 5 star service! Thanks Nunzio!

Thanks for review Gary! Glad to have helped bring your facility up to current fire alarm code. Unfortunately, the fire alarm code is very complicated here in RI and often times is misinterpreted costing the building owners more than they should be spending. We pride ourselves in keeping the system cost as low as possible to meet the code. We have the experience and resources to challenge the Marshalls if we feel they have misinterpreted as in your case, due to square footage requirements. Glad to have you as our customer!

Home Alarm finally works!

Home Alarm finally works!

We recently purchased a home in East Greenwich that had an existing security / burglar alarm system already installed. We wanted remote control from our cell phones as well as some home automation functions: unlocking front door from cell phone (which automatically locks every night at a preset time, so no more going to bed and forgetting to lock the door). Our old system couldnt do these things, and we had received flyers in our mailbox from about ten companies. We decided on using a local company based here in RI as we had a bad experience with a "national" security company at our old home. We took AAA Alarms up on their offer of a free estimate to learn about upgrading the old system. Joe was great in explaining his recommendations, and he was able to utilize some of the existing system components that were in good condition, while recommended replacing the stuff that would most likely false alarm. He showed is the new technology to control our door locks and alarm from our smartphones and also recommended a new thermostat that would allow us to also save money on our heating and cooling bills by being..

Thanks for the review...glad you are using the remote control for your alarm. Please kindly, recommend us to your neighbors as many folks are paying more for the alarms and do not have upgraded remote control capabilities....

Finally i can see my home from my phone!

Finally i can see my home from my phone!

I have finally hired an alarm company here in RI thats cares about false alarms and doesnt want them as much as me. After reviewing my older system, AAA Alarms recommended changing out the control panel, keypads, and all my old style motion detectors and glass break detectors. These turned out to be the culprits, because upon activating monitoring w AAA Alarms after the upgrade, i have not had a single false activation! Praise to David! Definately recommend especially if you currently have a national provider. Cant beat local family owned service!
Response from AAA Alarms And Fire Protection
Hi John, thanks for the review! We all hate false alarms as it makes our industry look bad and makes the alarm frustrating to use. Glad we solved the problem with the new equipment. Old glassbreak detectors are a common source of false alarms with older systems, glad to have gotten them updated for you!

Incredible Service on my Card access system

Incredible Service on my Card access system

We had been having trouble with our computerized card access system from another installation company, and it reached a point that our old out of state alarm company was not able to fix it. Fortunately, a friend worked at a large mental health provider in RI who had been using AAA Alarms for years (i believe over 15 years), and now i understand why! AAA service team was second to none. They not only repaired some lightening damaged components but upgraded my 5 year old software to the newest features with many enhancements. Our access control system now runs flawlessly on a new computer and seemlessly controls which doors lock, when certain doors automatically unlock, who is allowed access and to which doors, what time the card holder is granted access to a particular door, etc. Thanks to AAA Alarms, our new alarm company, we now have photo ID badging built in, and we can log into and make changes remotely to our cardholder database. AAA Alarms offered us a custom site survey which carefully reviewed our old hardware and software, followed up with a comprehensive proposal to repair and upgrade certain components of our security system, and then finished with a swift installation/repair schedule. I highly recommend AAA Alarms to service your custom security systems!

Business Alarm for Business Security- Commercial Alarm Monitoring

Business Alarm for Business Security- Commercial Alarm Monitoring

We installed a new business security system alarm with AAA Alarms and have been very happy since. We now can not only get a call from AAA Alarms Central Monitoring station, but we can view our cameras they installed from our smartphones and home computers. We did have a false alarm due to a new employee not entering his code properly on the keypad, but thanks to the remote control feature of the business alarm, I was able to simply verify who was in the building through the video camera on my phone, and then proceed to disarm the alarm also through my smartphone app. What a nice convenience to have! The system was customized to our specific business and it works perfectly. Thanks to the staff at AAA Alarms
